Happy Birthday to Tyler... early!

We decided to give Tyler his birthday present a little early. We had a long weekend for Labor Day and figured we could hang around the house most of the weekend and let him enjoy. He's getting his swing set next weekend, going to the aquarium/river walk in New Orleans the next weekend after that, then the following weekend (Saturday) will be his birthday party! So we figured we'd just call it his birthday MONTH and break out his gift during the only calm weekend when he can really enjoy it. It's been a HUGE hit and considering its size, we've done some serious toy cleaning. We put the majority of his baby toys in the attic, gotten rid of some hand me down toys that were no longer interesting, and got things organized in the chaos that is his play room. It's an awesome train table and its got lights and sounds too. He has done really well with it and absolutely loves it. He's growing up way too fast though! He's been doing good with his potty training. He was in big boy boxers at the house all day yesterday with no accidents. He had a couple accidents today, but hopefully tomorrow will be better. Considering he's not even two yet, I'm VERY proud of how well he's doing with it! Here are some pictures of him and his new train.

Gotta love the fancy wrapping...
They have the same look of confusion at this point...

less toys is soooo the truth!! we're thinking about giving some of our young baby toys away VERY soon. kinda "paying it forward" to all those friends that passed stuff down to us. the big stuff that we received as gifts i'll hang on to, just in case we ever need it again.

that's so great you're able to have a playroom area for toys. i love how we have a playroom here. will miss that when we go back to TX. wish the room had a door though... cuz some days i'm too tired to pickup the mess?!

trains & train table looks like LOTS of fun;) my Dad just built a train table for my nephew, Ethan, and offered to build one for Jude too when he's a toddler! i haven't a clue about trains, so you'll have to fill me in on that;)

It is really nice having a play room for him. Its right in the middle of everything too, so we can let him play while we are in the living room or kitchen and still be able to see or hear him. We still have entirely too many toys, and I know there are more to come with birthday and Christmas around the corner... but they are only little once, so we just store what we can in the attic and make frequent donations to the daycare and Goodwill!
