Tyler's New Ride

It became painfully obvious this past week that we had out grown my car. We were heading for Josh's softball game on Wednesday night and between the two car seats (one for Tyler, one for Rhoby), the folding chair for me, the stroller for Tyler, Josh's bat bag and ball gear, and the other necessities of the car (air pump, umbrella, etc.) we were starting to look more like a clown car, than a family car. We decided on the way home to go car shopping this weekend and see what we could find. We left as soon at Tyler downed his 9:00 bottle and 6 hours and 3 dealerships later we had a "new to us" car. It's a silver 2004 Envoy. (I wanted to take a picture with my camera, but it's chilly outside!!) It's in perfect shape both inside and out and has really low miles. We switched everything into the new car when we got home and we actually have room for all the baby gear AND room left over for groceries! We are going to test it out next weekend when we head to see my Nanaw, our first road trip... it's only 2 1/2 hour drive, but I'm still a little afraid!

1 Month Old!

This picture is just funny, had to share!Daddy and Tyler catching some zzz's

Playing with all his cool toys!

Saints Sunday Attire!

He looks a little confused... the Saints actually won?!?!

His newborn pictures are posted at 4everphotography.com in the galleries section if anyone wants to check them out. (password: softball) They came out really well, even though we couldn't get him to sleep and taking all the different pose pictures! So he is bright eyed and wide awake in all of them!

Well it's hard to believe but Tyler is one month old today! He's has been a busy boy lately and a lot has been going on. He's been playing with his new friend Rhoby during the week, they give each other some funny looks!! Rhoby is the little boy that I babysit and he is five months old. We all have a good time, but boy do we stay busy!

Tyler has become quite the acrobat already... he has rolled from his tummy to his back twice! I thought that the first time must have just been a fluke, but he did it again the next day. He also will pick his head up completely and turn and look around.

I'm still trying to figure out how he maneuvers around his crib at night. When I get him out of bed he is often times at the opposite end that I laid him at. He also has a sleep positioner that is "supposed" to keep him sleeping on his back in the middle of the crib... well he tends to either scoot out of it or just levitate above it to lay next to it! How he gets next to it, I haven't the foggiest idea... but he does it. Josh has set up a camera above his bed, so now we have eyes on him and of course he hasn't done it since. He ordered a wireless surveillance camera off the internet and put it above Tyler's bed. The output runs directly to the TV in our room, so at night we just have to turn on the TV and we can see him perfectly. It has day and night vision, so we can actually see him better on the TV than we can in his room at night. He borrowed this ingenious idea from his friend Brandon... it's one of their projects that I actually am enjoying and the camera was only about 40 bucks. So it was well worth it!

Well both boys are napping right now, so I should go do something productive... this won't last much longer!!

New Pic's

Here are few new pictures of Tyler. He has been doing very well. We did a little experimenting with his formula. but we ended up going back to where we started from. We were a little worried that the one he is on now was going straight through him, but after seeing how slowly and painfully the alternatives went through... we decided to just leave well enough alone and go back to what we know works. As long as he's gaining weight and healthy, then we just get a few extra dirty diapers and go through a little more formula than we would otherwise. He's still doing pretty good with his sleeping, we have our good and not so good nights of course... but he's averaging a 7-12 stretch, followed by a 12-4, and a 4-7. Josh is still putting him down for bed and I'm taking the midnight and early morning feedings. Tyler doesn't seem to mind who's feeding him though, as long as he's eating and its fast!! He's averaging about 4-5 ounces a feeding now and is really starting to plump up. He's wearing his newborn clothes and starting to fit some of his 0-3 month stuff too!

This morning he was really excited about a new to us (hand me down) toy that I brought out. Normally he doesn't pay a whole lot of attention to toys, he's more interested in people... but he really was excited about this one. He actually was batting his arms around enough to activate it over and over again.

Obviously all that playing was hard work!!
Tyler was exhausted after his first trip to church, he slept and smiled through most of the service. He was quite popular with the ladies too!

This was one of the pictures that I took of him to give to my mom for her birthday. Poor guy probably was blinded after the 20 something pictures I snapped of him trying to get some good ones to frame and give her as part of her gift.

I didn't actually print this picture... but I think it's funny!

First Softball Game with Daddy

2 Week Check Up!

Alrighty, so this may not have any pictures to go with it, because I'm going to attempt and write this while Tyler is taking his nap... pictures take a while and I probably only have a few more minutes before nap time is over!

We both went for our check ups this past Tuesday. I have managed to lose 20 of my pregnancy pounds and have a little less than 10 more to go, fun fun! (ugh!) According to the doctor I'm nearly all healed up and free to do some light exercise and stuff around the house. Tyler's appointment took a while, not crazy about having to be there for over two hours, but it went well. As of Tuesday he was 22 inches long and 8 pounds and 9 ounces, so he gained an inch and 10 ounces from his birth day measurements! He's growing like a weed, but only in one direction, he still doesn't quite fill out his newborn outfits and we are going through his few preemie outfits on a daily basis. I went ahead and put him in a newborn footed outfit today, it's still pretty wide but it's actually long enough for him to stretch his legs out in, unlike his preemie footed clothes (poor thing was scrunched up like a praying mantis in the preemie ones, couldn't even straighten his knees!)

So far he's doing everything that he should be doing. He can follow faces and slow moving objects with his eyes and is doing really well with his sleeping. The only little thing that we (Josh) are still working on is getting him to bed before ten o'clock! He will take his bottle around 8 and just be a fussy butt until about 10 when he will fall asleep and stay asleep until after midnight usually. He gets up around 12 or 1 eats and is back to sleep in 30 minutes to an hour then will sometimes sleep all the way until 6 in the morning! We really can't complain about his late bedtime, since he does so well for the rest of the night. Josh has been in charge of the bedtime bottle and putting him down for the night and they are still trying to negotiate a truce on the whole bed time thing. I get up with him in the middle of the night and early morning for those feedings so that Josh can get enough sleep to make it safely to work! I tried doing all three feedings so that Josh could get more rest, but I quickly discovered that I'm not really capable of it and usually spent the following day as a hormonal zombie! Not pretty at all! I hear some hiccups coming from the bassinet so I'm going to go, I do have some new pictures... but they will have to wait for the next blog!

Just Tyler

Alright Melissa these are for you! haha Here are some pictures from our most recent adventures!

Tyler and Josh in a stare down

Just say no to crack!

Hanging out in the bouncie seat

His first of many trips to the mall with Aunt Michelle, Aunt Kristin, and Hunter

Oh NO! Watching the Saints game with Daddy and Aunt Kristen, this picture was taken when the touch down was called back... he was very upset about it!
Tyler's cord fell of today, I have no idea where it is... but it's gone!! He's in a coma right now with his Aunt Kristen watching football or else I would take a picture and post his new belly! His little boy parts are also all healed up, so he is ready to go get inspected at his two week check up this coming Tuesday. He has been sleeping so well the past couple of nights, been waking up for his feedings every 4 hours and getting back to sleep within the hour most of the time. What a wonderful little man! He is also taking as much as four ounces at his feedings and starting to plump up. He's already getting bigger it seems!
