"God made dirt and dirt don't hurt" is the motto around "the compound." For those who aren't familiar with where we are living, it's referred to as the compound by everyone who lives here and frequently visits. Its a big plot of land that's a kids paradise... tons of land to run, lots of tree's to climb, a pond, a horse, a dog, a pool, golf carts, tractors, kids and all the spoiling that any one little boy could ask for. I lived here as a teenager and later worked here for just about every member of the family either babysitting or sitting with Mrs. Jerry. To truly initiate Tyler into living on the compound, Mr. David and Mrs. Jerry got him a load of dirt for his birthday. It's his very first dirt pile and he was quite impressed with it as you can see.

Almost 1 year...
Its so incredibly hard to believe that the extremely skinny little baby that we brought home has grown into such a little man already! He will be a year this coming Thursday and it's so hard to believe how much he has learned and grown in such a short time. He's walking and occasionally running. He can "say" mama, daddy, all done, katie (the dog), tractor, go, bye bye, and hey. He "says" these words because they aren't always said in the English language... he has his own special way of saying things sometimes. They will be in the right tone... but not always with the right sounds! He's almost off formula completely and we are getting rid of the bottle once the last couple scoops of formula runs out. I don't think it will be too tough though because he LOVES his cups and should transition pretty smoothly (hopefully). Here are a few recent pictures from around the house... he's quite the ham. When you get the camera out and point it at him he says his own little version of cheese and smiles.

1st Hurricane...
We weathered the storm fairly well. We lost a tree at our house now and also at the rent house... but we were only without power for about 3 days. Tyler was really a trooper for the whole thing. I was afraid that all the change would throw him off, but he did great. He really has been quite spoiled through it all... he's was able to play outside a lot more, since its the same temp both inside and out. We did have one unfortunate stand in line all day for a generator event... but we came out alright. It just shows me what a GOOD baby... or actually what a big boy Tyler is.

Getting REALLY dirty outside during the storm!
