Man Shower

This Saturday we had a Man Shower for Josh. It was really just a crawfish boil where all those who ate crawfish had to bring diapers or some other baby item. It was a lot of fun though. A few of the guys from his softball team and their significant others came along with most of his family and some of our friends. My dad happened to be in town, so he stopped by for a little while too. We got probably 9 or 10 packs of random sized diapers, some shampoos/lotions/etc, clothes, and a really cute little piggy bank. It was nice to have people over and the clean up wasn't too bad either. Josh's mom and dad stayed and helped clean up, so that always helps. Everyone else ran off as soon as they were full (of course). It was the first unofficial shower though and it was a lot of fun! I'm looking forward to our next appointment on the 10th, I took the day of f of school so me and Josh are going to go do registries and stuff and get lunch after the appointment. I'm ready to get the room closer to complete. I don't think we will have any clothes on the registry, his closet is already pretty full, and he is probably going to inherit some clothes from a friend of ours who just had a little boy. Picking out all the other accessories, bibs, burp cloths, bottles, pack n play, stroller, carseat, saucer, swing... and whatever else I can remember will be lots of fun though!

We are going to the zoo with my kiddo's on Tuesday, and I have a good bit of work ahead of me today. I need to get all my plans ready and sort my kiddo's into groups for parents to help keep tabs on everyone. I have a lot of testing stuff to enter into a really fun database too.... blah blah blah... not to mention laundry!! That's all the fun I have planned for today... better get started!

Update

Josh and I had a nice day off, since my principal forbid me from going to school and Josh took off for our appointment. Soooo, we waited for about 30 minutes, then got an ultrasound done and she said there were no signs of placenta bleeding, so the baby was fine. Tyler was very lazy for this ultrasound. He didn't even wake up, he would move around a little when she pressed on him but other than that he was curled up and not snoozing! We met with the doctor and he said that everything looked good and to come back for my regular ultrasound in a couple weeks for the detailed measurements and stuff. After the appointment we went shopping... which I really didn't need to do!! But I got some shirts that actually fit and a really cute diaper bag that will match all my stuff... it was the last one so I couldn't pass it up!! We went to Josh's game tonight and they ALMOST won, it was one of those that "they should've won." It's pizza time now though...

One last thing, Josh got to feel Tyler bumping around last night. He was curled up in a little ball on my side, so that was exciting!! I'm going to poke around for him tonight and see if I can find him again!!

Poopy Start

This Sunday I had some spotting. We called the doctor and they said to take it easy and it should be fine. I didn't haven't any cramping or pain with it, so they said there wasn't anything to worry about. So Sunday was mostly a day on the couch resting and snacking. I was kind of sore yesterday afternoon and still felt real achy this morning. I was being observed by some people from the state department so I was planning on going in to school for at least a half day and coming home early since I still didn't feel completely over it and was still having some pains. God Bless my principal I told her what was going on and she sent me home this morning to rest and said she would send the observers to another classroom. So I'm home on the couch trying to rest and kill some time. I get up to get something to eat since my stomach was very loudly protesting and telling me it needed food and I get nauseated and get sick for the first time in weeks! I think I need to just go to bed and start all over. It just doesn't seem to be my day. Josh may come home early, I'm going to call my doc in a little bit and make sure that my aches and pains are normal and nothing to worry about. I don't think that they are a problem, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Okay, I'm done whining... for today at least! The good news is that I find Tyler's heartbeat really easy now that he's getting bigger and I'm expanding right along with him. I've felt him move around some too. I can't wait until Josh can feel him kicking around in there. Mrs. Kay and I were looking at fabric for my crib set and decided on two designs for the bumpers with a skirt, quilt, and sheets to match. It's going to be SO cute!! It's still just a scribble on the paper but she found a fabric place on the internet with all the designs that I wanted to use so we just gotta order them. Mrs. Kay has a lot of sewing ahead of her, but she volunteered for the job and I think it's going to turn out absolutly precious!! Me and Josh went looking around for a dresser/changer for the nursery. I wanted something like a dresser for the storage but with a surface we could double as a changer when we needed it. I'd looked around with his mom and found a nice dresser but it was laminate and Josh is anti fake wood. So we went to the unfinished furniture place and found the perfect little changing table. Since it's unfinished... we can stain it to match the crib when we get it!! yay!! They only had one at the store so we went ahead and bought it... real wood is expensive!! BUT it should hold up a lot better than the other stuff that I've seen for about the same price. Everything else is going on the registry (just as soon as a I make one) and hopefully that will keep me from going shopping anymore!! I doubt it though...

Bunny Bread

Poor, poor Josh... I really wanted a peanut butter and brown sugar sandwich for dinner tonight. He has two games later, so we won't be eating a real supper because he won't be home and he probably won't eat much anyways by the time he gets in. Sooo I really wanted this sandwich... BUT we only had wheat bread and peanut butter/brown sugar sandwiches aren't good with wheat bread, in fact they are just nasty!! So since I haven't really had any crazy pregnant lady cravings I had to take advantage of this one... and poor Josh is going to Chevron to get me some bunny bread right now, it's terrible... but kind of funny... and I realize that I'm horrible. I'm okay with it though, all the nausea and headaches and cramping... he's getting off easy with a trip to Chevron! hehe

IT'S A....

It's a BOY!

He was VERY wriggley!
This was one of our 3D pics, you can kind of see his head!
It's a BOY! As any child of mine should be... this one must have heard that everyone had bought pink and decided to become a boy to be difficult!! haha We are very excited and it's SO nice to actually know and be able to say "he" instead of it! We can also start calling him by his name, Tyler Hunt Snowbarger. Josh got to pick out the boys name, so this one is all his choice! We fibbed a little and told the ultrasound clinic that we were 17 weeks... and we were only 16. The lady who did our ultrasound said that he looked really big for 17 weeks! I wanted to tell her that he was big for 16 weeks but I just laughed to myself. HE was kicking around and getting really mad at her for pushing on him with the ultrasound machine. He kept kicking back whenever she would put pressure on him. He had really big hands and feet and some really long legs! Looks like he's going to be a big boy!!

The Friday

I'm so very excited... we're going to the First Glimpse ultrasound place this Friday at 4:30 to hopefully determine the sex of the baby!! I absolutely cannot wait, I kind of hope that it is a girl because I have a pretty good collection of girl clothes building up from family members... and I may have bought one or two myself possibly. Then again a boy would be really cool too because it would be the first boy on Josh's side of the family and Josh would get to use his name that he picked out. I really don't have a preference at this point, all of my family is pulling for a girl though because there is a shortage.

Yesterday my bother-in-law and sister-in-law had their baby girl. They named her Charlotte Reese and she actually looks like Amanda. I didn't think it was possible to have a Snowbarger baby actually look like you instead of a Snowbarger clone, but there might be small chance that I could have a child actually look something like me. Shocking!! It does give me a little hope that after carrying this baby for nine months that it may get a few of my genes!

I think my angry pregnant hormones got the best of me yesterday. I had been doing so good at avoiding any major mood swings... I guess it had to come at one point or another. I was just really unsettled about the way things were around the house. I had a bunch of things that I'd brought home from school since the end of the year is getting close and they were just piling up with no where to put them. With the help of a new shelf and file cabinet and whole lot of moving around, things are looking SO much better and I'm not as crazy now. If we could only get the floor finished in the nursery then I think I'd be content... for now.

BEACH!!

We just got back from the beach tonight! The beach was gorgeous as usual, even though it was a bit cold!! I did manage to get some sun on Friday, the temp was 65 but the sun was bright and shining. I must say I even got a little bit sunburned. I love sunshine. Saturday the temp dipped to 55 so needless to say I didn't lay out at all, but me and Josh did get some lunch on the beach and go to the flea market. Saturday night, we all went to McGuires and ate too much. It was a really nice trip. We were able to stop by Nanaws on the way home and show her all the ultrasound pictures. She hadn't seen any of them yet, so she had a lot of catching up to do. We also used the doppler to let her and Papa hear the heartbeat. It was SO loud! It was the loudest that we have heard it and the baby was moving around all over the place. I guess he or she likes going to Nanaws already. It was such a nice get away, even though the weather wasn't exactly cooperative. We finished off today by stopping by Josh's moms for supper. Mrs. Kay got the baby a really cute little purple dress with a matching bonnet. (Can you tell she's pulling for a girl??) It is adorable though, hopefully I can manage to get into that ultrasound place this week and find out for sure what the sex will be! I really hope I'm not going to be returning a bunch of clothes!! But either way it would be nice to know and to be able to give a name to our little snowbaby.

Dr. Appt

We had our appointment today. It was kind of boring, but then again boring is good! I weighed and so far I've put on a big 2lbs, which I'm certain is in my boobs and stomach. That's what I'm going with at least! The doctor checked on the heart beat again and the baby was actually cooperative today and let him find it. I was hoping that it would keep up the difficult streak so we could have another ultrasound and get an idea of what the sex was. Our "big" ultrasound is going to be on May 10th. Its OVER a month away. I really don't think that I'm going to make it that long. I may be forced to go and get an ultrasound done at one of those private places so I can find out next week or the week after. I think it would be worth it to be able to find out what the baby will be. I can't wait to actually be able to call it by name... or say he or she instead of "it" all the time! A name would be great and then I could release my sisters and everyone else to feel free to buy either pink or blue stuff freely.

In other pointless information, we're going to the BEACH!!! I tried on my suits and they still fit... they don't look quite the same as they used to but they will be good enough! Yay for Florida!!
