Tyler's New Toofers!

What's more fun than one teething baby?? How about two teething babies?!?! Tyler has cut his two bottom teeth, but is still a little confused about what these hard things in his mouth are. Rhoby on the other hand is cutting his two top teeth... one is partially broken through and the other is right on the verge of popping out. Needless to say, he is NOT a happy camper today. He's napping right now and Tyler is playing in his saucer and "reading" the little plastic book to me... babble, babble, babble! Here are some pictures of Tylers new teeth, you need to click on them to enlarge to really get a good look at them. They are in, but still have some growing to do.

This is from Tyler's most recent trip to sonic. We didn't think he would actually be able to slurp a cream slush up through the straw... but he did!
Imagine our surprise when orange slush came dripping down his chin!

TEETH!!

Typically Tyler sleeps through the night like 8 out of 10 times... so we didn't think much of it on Friday when he woke us up at 3 and just figured it was gas from all those sweet potatoes that he had for lunch! Saturday he had red and swollen gums and was a trooper for our all day shopping at the outlet, but was a handful that afternoon. He gnawed on frozen bananas and when I cut him off from those, his granny put some ice in his feeder and he absolutely LOVED chewing on that. He slept good last night and was very well behaved at church today, but once we got home he started his chewing marathon again. My Nanaw had told me to rub his gums as much as I could to help him to cut his teeth, so I went to massage his gums this morning and they weren't red and swollen anymore... they were sharp!! The top ridges of two teeth are protruding from his bottom gum!! I'm so excited and relieved that they are in and he didn't run any fever, get sick, or have too many of the typical teething night mares... but at the same time I'm a little sad that he's growing up SO fast!! Pretty soon I won't be able to have anymore toothless grins... but I'm sure he will be just as cute with his new teeth! As soon as they are out enough to catch on camera, I'll post some pictures!

Jump, jump, jump, jump, jump...

Tyler LOVES to jump in his horse that his MawMaw Leggett got for him. This was one of his more calm episodes that his Daddy caught on camera this morning. Between the walking and the jumping I'm not sure if he's going to walk or hop first!

On the Move!

Tyler was spending some time outside in his walker a few days ago. He is normally used to only getting to run around in the kitchen, so it was a treat to be able to go all the way down the drive way and under the car port. He had a little trouble with posts, cars, and cracks along the way, but he survived and had a lot of fun while we were waiting for Daddy to get home from work.

Candy Canes!

Tyler was playing with candy canes at his Granny's house. He was extremely serious while taking one or two candy canes out and then putting/dropping/throwing them on the table, then getting more, and more, and more... When the cup ran out he just tried to turn the cup over and then moved on to making noise with the LSU bells.

Banana's!

Since Tyler has been eating "solids" for a few weeks now and also chewing on everything in sight I got him a little treat. It's a little mesh bag with a handle on it basically, but Tyler thinks it's absolutely wonderful when filled with fresh or frozen fruits and veggies. Here are some pictures of him and his frozen bananas. He made quite a mess but seemed to be having a great time doing it!

Josh and our little rolly polly... he looks like such a chunk in these pictures!

Busy boy

We have had a lot going on in the past week or so! Tyler's Uncle Adam, Aunt Melissa, and cousin Kaden came into town last weekend. While there were here, Tyler and Kaden spent some quality time together reading at Granny's house. Tyler also went with me and Josh to his first wedding... he spent the whole time in the back because it was bottle time, but he did get to enjoy the reception! He was particularly interested in eating Josh's rose, until he got a piece of it in his mouth and decided it wasn't really what he was looking for. Since I didn't have Rhoby Monday and Tuesday because of Mardi Gras we took a trip to Alabama to see my Nanaw and Papa. The last time they saw Tyler he was only a month old, so imagine their surprise when Tyler got there this time. He entertained everyone the whole time he was there with his ooing, cooing, bouncing, laughing, and SMILING! I swear his cheeks should be sore from all the smiling that child did, my Nanaw said she had never seen a baby smile as much as he does. I was thrilled that the trip didn't throw off his routine. I was scared that all the excitement and being somewhere new would mess up his sleeping, but he stayed on his regular nap schedule and slept all night! It's good to know that he's at the point where he can adjust to new things, makes traveling and planning trips a lot less frightening!
