Busy weekend!

Last weekend was just as exciting as the week, but in a good way! Tyler and I had a nice long nap, the first picture was just after he woke up, he was a BIT groggy... we also went to a little fair/fundraiser and our neighbors took home the big slide from it after it was over and Tyler got to try it out. He was more excited about jumping on it than sliding down it though. We also got Tyler a new high chair, his that he had was a hand me down that had seen better days! So we went to the baby store and did some shopping. On Sunday Tyler got to experience his first crawfish boil, he REALLY wanted to eat one but they were too spicy for him to taste just yet.

Teething, ears, bites, and rashes...

It's been quite a week for Tyler! He's still working on cutting his top teeth but is sleeping a little bit better at night. He has nights where he sleeps through and nights where he wakes up screaming like a banshee for 2 hours and running a fever of almost 102! The waking up screaming with fever made me wonder if maybe his ears were bothering him, so we went to the doctor on Thursday and got him all checked out. The doctor said that he didn't look like his right ear was healthy but it didn't look bad either, just a little irritated. So he suggested waiting and seeing if he ran anymore fever and watching him close and giving the antibiotic only if I thought he needed it. So Thursday night he had a scream fest and since we didn't know if it was his ear or his teeth we decided to go ahead and start the antibiotic... what could it hurt, right?! He woke up Friday morning with a weird rash on his head, that we still have no idea where it came from. He also had what looks like an ant bite on his leg that was a little irritated... so I wondered maybe if that had anything to do with the rash. Fast forward to Friday night, we gave him his first dose of amoxil and an hour later went to give him his bath and discovered red bumps all over his back and belly. I called the doc on call and he said to stop the amoxil and bring him in Saturday morning, so we brought him in this morning and he said it looks like a reaction to the antibiotic and he's officially allergic to penicillin. The good news is that he said he never had an ear infection and we don't need to worry about finding another antibiotic to put him on right now, we can just let it go. He also gave us some sample meds for the bite on his leg. Despite all the action, he's been in a great mood and we just got home from a little fair up at the school, he flirted with everyone as usual and now he's down for his nap! I'm still undecided if this counts as his first illness, since he wasn't actually sick and didn't really need the medicine that gave him the rash in the first place... maybe I'll hold off a bit longer on putting this one down in the baby book, I doubt there is room for this entire saga anyways!!

Almost on the move!

Tyler is growing entirely too fast!! He is cutting his two top teeth and has been waking up at 3 in the morning for the past 3 nights (ugh!) but they are coming down more every day so hopefully we can all start getting some more sleep soon! He's really got the hang of getting up on all fours and rocking, he still only goes backwards though... he obviously got his dad's sense of direction, haha. Aside from the teething he's doing great though! We have really settled into the new house and we've been staying very busy! I'm SO glad that it's the weekend, not that we will have anything less to do.... but at least Josh will be home to help us do it!
