2 Month Check Up!

Today Josh, Tyler, Rhoby, and I all went in to the doctor's office for Tyler's check up and shots. Josh got to go with us today because he was home recovering from a stomach virus. I had it earlier this week and my mom actually has it too. Thanks goodness Tyler hasn't caught it! His immune system seems to be better than both of ours! At the appointment, everyone was very well behaved. Rhoby slept through most of the appointment and Tyler ate his bottle and played. Here are his stats:
  • 13 pounds and 13 ounces (weight for age) 90-95th percentile
  • 23 1/2 inches long (length for age) 75th-90th Percentile
    • weight for length 50-75th percentile
  • head circumference 16 inches! 50-75th percentile (shocking for a Snowbarger)

The doctor said that he was looking good and healthy. He was proud of us for having him in his crib already and we were proud to report that he is getting very close to sleeping through the night! Night before last he went from 10pm to 6am (YAY!!), he only made it to 4 this morning but at least we are making progress! He got three different shots and screamed bloody murder when they first hit him, but calmed down in just a couple minutes. I really had the urge to either cry with him or slap the nurse for hurting my baby, but I was good and managed not to do either... it was difficult though! After our doctor appointment we all went to Winn Dixie to invest in some Tylenol in case he started running a fever. Now we are just hanging around and counting down the minutes until nap time so Josh and I can get some rest while these boys are out!

Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday was our two year anniversary and Sunday Tyler turned two months old, I guess two is the magic number this week! We celebrated by ordering some pizza and having a nice quiet night at home. Josh gave me some red roses and some Reese's big cups... yummy! We may try and go out to eat this weekend just the two of us. I can't decide if I want to leave Tyler or not! I know that we should and that he would be fine! Here are a couple of pictures from yesterday, Tyler is wearing one of his new Christmas outfits. Josh made fun of him all afternoon and said he was wearing little green tights. I pointed out that they were velvet pants, but he didn't think that was much better!

Tyler's First Thanksgiving!

"Gobble Gobble!!"

Poor, poor Tyler :-) so cute!

Hunter, MawMaw Mary, and Tyler

This doesn't happen often...
Hunter, Michelle, MawMaw, Me, Kristin, and Tyler
ALL in one picture!!

Getting ready for his next holiday!

Tyler got a double dose of Thanksgiving this year. We spent Thanksgiving day at his Granny and Grandpaw's house with Aunt Kristen and Uncle Matt. Then on Friday we had a second Thanksgiving at home with his Aunt Kristin, Aunt Michelle, Uncle Andy, Uncle Mickey, cousin Hunter, Mawmaw Mary, and Mawmaw Leggett. By Friday night we were completely stuffed!! His Uncle Adam, Aunt Melissa, and Kaden all came down Friday night and we got to visit with them too. We missed his Uncle Robby, Aunt Amanda and Charlotte because Charlotte had a virus and we wanted to make sure that it didn't get spread around the family. Tyler is still at the point where he can't have any sort of medication for even a cold, so getting a respiratory virus would probably mean a hospital visit! We are hoping that everyone will be well at Christmas so we can all get together and have all the Snowbarger babies together for the first time! It should make for an interesting and probably noisy holiday!

Chunky Monkey!

Playtime!

Tyler is getting SO big and so chunky these days! Here are some pics from earlier this morning and then later this afternoon when Josh got in from work. I couldn't resist taking a picture of him in the little baseball hat, it didn't really fit... or even stay on for that matter but it was cute! As you can see he is growing like a weed and all smiles for the camera.

"Bottle Euphoria"

Just wanted to post a few recent pictures, the last one is actually from tonight! Aunt Melissa, Uncle Adam, and Kaden are all in town this weekend and Kaden has been loving on baby Tyler. She patted and kissed him a bunch, and from the last picture you can tell that he was loving every minute of it! She was very sweet and getting so big! Makes me realize just how little Tyler is!

Daddy on Duty

Nap time!

Such a tired little man!

Your so funny!!

Good MORNING!

I've managed to come down with a nasty sinus infection/cold! So in hopes that I can keep Tyler from catching it Josh has been on full time Tyler duty since Thursday night. He stayed home from work on Friday and took care of Tyler while I looked after Rhoby until his grandparents were able to come and pick him up at noon. I'm pretty sure that Rhoby is the little culprit who passed this on to me, so I wasn't worried about giving it to him since he is still getting over his own sniffles! Friday afternoon we all went to the doctor and I got a cortizone shot, antibiotic pack, and some decongestant (with an extra 10 decongestants just in case Josh comes down with it too). Our doctor is also our pediatrician and I asked if they wouldn't mind weighing Tyler... he is up to 11 pounds and 14 ounces and 23 inches long!! Almost 12 pounds!! He has been SUCH a good baby though and hasn't given Josh too much trouble. I can't stand not being able to hold him, but if it will keep him healthy... then I'll just have to make up for it when I'm better! On the other hand Tyler and Josh are getting some serious father son bonding time! He's been wonderful and done every feeding and gotten him down for bed and all his naps right on time. He does have some reinforcements coming by today though. My sister and my mom have volunteered to come over and hold him for a little bit so Josh can recharge and have some time to himself.

On the bright side... I think Tyler may be back down to just one night feeding... he isn't thrilled about it, but he is adjusting. We have been feeding him around 6 and he's normally going until 12 or 1 until he needs his next feeding. The problem was that he was waking up after only 3 hours after his middle of the night bottle. So if he can stay in his own bed until at least 4:00, then we will bring him in our room and put him back to sleep until 6 or hopefully 7 until he starts his day. We figure that putting him in our bed isn't a great habit to get into... but if its just for an hour or two in the morning and it gets him back to his schedule then it's worth it. That is how we managed to get him to stretch out his night bottles in the first place, so hopefully it will work again!

We made it!

Well we survived the road trip and Tyler did great! He made it almost the whole way there before he needed his bottle. He took a few ounces and we pulled over and burped him, then got back on the road and we were there by the time he was due for another burping. He put on a show for my Nanaw and Papa, he was all smiles and cooing. He was well aware that he was the center of attention and seemed to be enjoying every minute of it. He is a ham already! He wore himself out with all the activity and slept the whole ride home. Unfortunately between the trip and the time change we are now back to two night feedings instead of just one!! *sigh* He was just waking up at 1 to eat and then going until 6 or 7 the next morning... now he is waking up at midnight and then again at 4. Looks like we gotta start over and start stretching his night bottles out again! Here are some pictures of his new little grin and of his visit with Nanaw and Papa.

All smiles!

First Halloween!!!

I can smile now!!

Tyler's Pumpkin

"BOO!!"

Poor, Poor Child... tortured by his parents at such a young age!

My little pepper!

Tyler is getting better and better at smiling and responding to us. He is actually smiling at us when we talk to him and responding to all our ridiculous faces and noises that we make at him. We haven't been able to get a really good smile on camera yet, but we are working on it!

I was a terrible mother and waited until the last minute to get Tyler a Halloween costume... of course when we went to look they didn't have anything in his size!! Luckily a friend of ours had passed down a costume, so we put it to good use! He only wore it long enough for some pictures because it was so warm though. We had a nice evening, we carved up his pumpkin and then handed out candy for about an hour before we headed to the ballpark to watch Daddy play softball... Tyler slept the whole time, but he was there for moral support!
