SNOW!!

It snowed!!! Again... 2nd year in a row! Jacob got to experience his first snow at 2 weeks old! Neither him or Tyler were big fans of it, we woke Tyler up and he was NOT happy about it. After an hour of coaxing we finally talked him in to going outside in his boots and hat... and the flashlight was also a necessity. He seemed amused by it for about 2 minutes and then decided that hot chocolate and cartoons were a much better alternative. When he finished his drink he told us it was time to go night night and put himself back to bed!!

Beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!

The Christmas Festivities have begun... we've put up the tree and decorated it! I still need to get or make Tyler's ornament for this year, but aside from that its done. We have a black and gold tree this year in honor of Josh's favorite football team, the Saints. We also made some Christmas cookies and eggnog to start the season off right!

Thanksgiving 2009

We spent Thanksgiving with Josh's family. It was nice to get out of the house and get moving... not to mention all the fabulous food! We had way more than we could eat and had a very nice time visiting and letting everyone spoil Jacob. It was a great Thanksgiving and we had one more little one to be thankful for this year.

Jacob Hale!

Jacob Hale Snowbarger was born on Friday, November 20th, 2009. He was 7 pounds and 10.6 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long. After about 16 hours in Labor and Delivery he finally made his debut. It was definitely not a moment too soon either, since my epidural was only making my left leg numb... everything else seem to have full feeling! He was definitely worth the wait though. He had a head full of hair and looked SO much like Tyler. He had some trouble with jaundice and we had to follow up with three different trips to the lab for blood work to keep an eye on his billiruben levels. He got over it on his own though and has a nice pink glow now instead of yellow! Tyler has done great adjusting to being a big brother. While I was in the hospital my mom and sisters and friends all helped keep him busy and distracted so he didn't notice Mama and Daddy were AWOL. Since we've been home he's kind of been oblivious to him most of the time and goes about his regular business. He's got lots of work to do with his tractors, trucks, and trains... so little brothers really aren't all that interesting to him at this point. He does make sure Jacob has his "blank" (blanket) and will help out and give him a nunu or go put a bottle in the sink for us. It's been a much easier transition that I expected and I'm so thankful for it!

Halloween 09!!!

This was the first year that Tyler was really able to get into trick or treating and all the halloween fun. We carved up a pumpkin, which he wasn't all that crazy about. He didn't like the way that it felt and said it was gross. He did try to eat some of the inside of it, and said it was gross too! He did enjoy the candle inside though and looking at it all lit up. We dressed up and had a practice round of trick or treat at the school on Friday. All the kids had a blast and had WAY too much sugar at their party!! We got together with his cousin Kaden and some friends and went trick or treating on Saturday. I was a little worried that he wouldn't really get it, but he did great. Once he hit the first house and got candy, he was off and running for the next one. They all racked up and had a good time. Here are some pictures of our little pirate!

2nd Birthday!

My baby boy is two years old! Time has gone by so fast, but at the same time it's hard to imagine how our life was without him. We had a great turn out for his birthday party. We had lots of family, friends, and neighbors come help us celebrate Tyler turning two! We did a truck theme... of course and even had dirt cake served in the back of a dump truck. All the kiddo's wore themselves out jumping, swinging, and sliding. Tyler got lots of really nice gifts and has been thoroughly enjoying them. I'm hoping that they keep their appeal until Christmas time and keep him busy when Jacob decides to make his debut. Here are a bunch of pic's from his party!

Yummy, best thing I've ever eaten out the back of a dump truck!

Aquarium Trip

Last weekend we went down to New Orleans to see the aquarium. Both of my sisters and my Mom made the trip as well. Josh, Tyler, and I headed down Saturday morning and visited with his parents for a few minutes, they happened to be in New Orleans for the weekend too. When everyone made it into town we took off through the aquarium at the speed of a two year old, which is surprisingly fast! All the kids had a great time. Tyler LOVES fish and his Aunt Kristin actually gave him a little aquarium and fish for his room. So he was in heaven looking at all the sharks and fish and seeing all the exhibits. Their favorite part was the kid area. They had a play house and slide, an area to pet sting rays, an area to pet a shark, and some little climbing and walk through toys. It was a big success and we were all ready for lunch by the time we made it out. We let Tyler run through the Riverwalk on the way to get lunch and about half way through he started to lag behind. Josh put him up on his shoulders and the child almost fell asleep on Josh's head. We hurried and ate something quick at the Riverwalk and went back to Josh's parents hotel room where we took a wonderful and much needed nap. We walked around town a little bit more when he woke up and spent some time with Josh's parents and his sister Kristen before heading home. Here are some pictures from our adventure! Enjoy!
