Daddy on Duty
I've managed to come down with a nasty sinus infection/cold! So in hopes that I can keep Tyler from catching it Josh has been on full time Tyler duty since Thursday night. He stayed home from work on Friday and took care of Tyler while I looked after Rhoby until his grandparents were able to come and pick him up at noon. I'm pretty sure that Rhoby is the little culprit who passed this on to me, so I wasn't worried about giving it to him since he is still getting over his own sniffles! Friday afternoon we all went to the doctor and I got a cortizone shot, antibiotic pack, and some decongestant (with an extra 10 decongestants just in case Josh comes down with it too). Our doctor is also our pediatrician and I asked if they wouldn't mind weighing Tyler... he is up to 11 pounds and 14 ounces and 23 inches long!! Almost 12 pounds!! He has been SUCH a good baby though and hasn't given Josh too much trouble. I can't stand not being able to hold him, but if it will keep him healthy... then I'll just have to make up for it when I'm better! On the other hand Tyler and Josh are getting some serious father son bonding time! He's been wonderful and done every feeding and gotten him down for bed and all his naps right on time. He does have some reinforcements coming by today though. My sister and my mom have volunteered to come over and hold him for a little bit so Josh can recharge and have some time to himself.
On the bright side... I think Tyler may be back down to just one night feeding... he isn't thrilled about it, but he is adjusting. We have been feeding him around 6 and he's normally going until 12 or 1 until he needs his next feeding. The problem was that he was waking up after only 3 hours after his middle of the night bottle. So if he can stay in his own bed until at least 4:00, then we will bring him in our room and put him back to sleep until 6 or hopefully 7 until he starts his day. We figure that putting him in our bed isn't a great habit to get into... but if its just for an hour or two in the morning and it gets him back to his schedule then it's worth it. That is how we managed to get him to stretch out his night bottles in the first place, so hopefully it will work again!
