Alrighty, so this may not have any pictures to go with it, because I'm going to attempt and write this while Tyler is taking his nap... pictures take a while and I probably only have a few more minutes before nap time is over!
We both went for our check ups this past Tuesday. I have managed to lose 20 of my pregnancy pounds and have a little less than 10 more to go, fun fun! (ugh!) According to the doctor I'm nearly all healed up and free to do some light exercise and stuff around the house. Tyler's appointment took a while, not crazy about having to be there for over two hours, but it went well. As of Tuesday he was 22 inches long and 8 pounds and 9 ounces, so he gained an inch and 10 ounces from his birth day measurements! He's growing like a weed, but only in one direction, he still doesn't quite fill out his newborn outfits and we are going through his few preemie outfits on a daily basis. I went ahead and put him in a newborn footed outfit today, it's still pretty wide but it's actually long enough for him to stretch his legs out in, unlike his preemie footed clothes (poor thing was scrunched up like a praying mantis in the preemie ones, couldn't even straighten his knees!)
So far he's doing everything that he should be doing. He can follow faces and slow moving objects with his eyes and is doing really well with his sleeping. The only little thing that we (Josh) are still working on is getting him to bed before ten o'clock! He will take his bottle around 8 and just be a fussy butt until about 10 when he will fall asleep and stay asleep until after midnight usually. He gets up around 12 or 1 eats and is back to sleep in 30 minutes to an hour then will sometimes sleep all the way until 6 in the morning! We really can't complain about his late bedtime, since he does so well for the rest of the night. Josh has been in charge of the bedtime bottle and putting him down for the night and they are still trying to negotiate a truce on the whole bed time thing. I get up with him in the middle of the night and early morning for those feedings so that Josh can get enough sleep to make it safely to work! I tried doing all three feedings so that Josh could get more rest, but I quickly discovered that I'm not really capable of it and usually spent the following day as a hormonal zombie! Not pretty at all! I hear some hiccups coming from the bassinet so I'm going to go, I do have some new pictures... but they will have to wait for the next blog!
